– Referring page (where you came from)
– Pages visited and time spent
– Approximate geographic location (city / region level only – derived from IP)
This includes data collected via Jetpack (e.g., for site stats and performance) and Akismet (for comment spam checking).

**C. Cookies & similar technologies**
We use:
– **Essential / strictly necessary cookies** – needed for the site to function (comment system session, CSRF protection, theme choice if any, Jetpack/Akismet functionality) – Jetpack may set additional cookies for features like site stats, related posts, or sharing buttons (if enabled). We do **not** use advertising cookies, tracking pixels from ad networks, social media tracking pixels (Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, etc.), or fingerprinting.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data only for:
– Displaying and delivering the Blog content
– Processing and displaying comments
– Sending newsletter emails (if you subscribed)
– Detecting spam / abusive comments (via Askimet)
– Site analytics and usage patterns (via Jetpack Stats)
– Understanding general usage patterns (number of visitors, popular articles, broken links)
– Improving site performance and security
– Responding to your messages / support requests

We do **not** use your data for:
– Behavioral advertising
– Building marketing profiles
– Selling or renting your data
– Training AI models (except possibly anonymized server logs that contain no personal identifiers)

3. Sharing & Disclosure

We share your personal information only in these limited situations:
– With Automattic Inc. (our provider for Jetpack and Akismet) – they receive data like IP addresses, user agents, referrers, comment details (for Akismet spam checking), and site usage data (for Jetpack features). Automattic processes this under their Privacy Policy and Privacy Notice for site visitors. They do not sell this data.
– With our hosting provider / CDN (e.g., if using Cloudflare or similar) – they see IP addresses and basic request metadata as part of normal operation
– With our email service provider (if you subscribe) – currently Jetpack Subscriptions
– When required by law, court order, or valid government request
– To protect our rights, safety, or property (extremely rare)

No other sharing occurs.

4. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location you may have some or all of the following rights:
– Access your personal data we hold
– Ask us to correct inaccurate data- Ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
– Object to / restrict processing
– Data portability (where technically feasible)
– Withdraw consent (newsletter, comments)

5. Data Retention

Please put “Privacy Request” in the subject line.
We usually respond within 10–30 days.

**Newsletter**  
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any email.

**Cookies & analytics**  
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers also have a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal option.

– Comments – kept indefinitely unless you ask for deletion or we remove them for spam/abuse/policy violation
– Newsletter subscribers – kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed
– Server logs – kept for 30–90 days (security & debugging purposes)
-Akismet spam data – typically retained 2 weeks to 90 days by Automattic, then deleted
– Email correspondence – kept as long as necessary for the purpose, usually 2–5 years

6. International Transfers

Our hosting, email, Jetpack, and Akismet providers (including Automattic in the US) may process data in the United States or other countries. We/Automattic use safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where required by law.

7. Children

Our Blog is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The new version will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be announced via a site notice or newsletter (if you are subscribed).
