I find I have the same problem from time to time. Sometimes I wonder if having a base ring just the tiniest bit smaller would cut down on these types of things (and, incidentally, cut down on the amount of “rooty-ness” I experience). The problem is that if I were to get a smaller ring, my balls wouldn’t be able to squeeze through, even when they aren’t swollen and filled with weeks worth of cum… trust me, I’ve tried.

My suggestion would be the simplest solution of all: don’t worry about it.

If your cage fits well and feels comfortable, you don’t really have to change anything at all. You don’t want to mess with a good thing, and it’s hard enough to get your cage fitted well as yours is. When it comes down to it, looks are a luxury but comfort is a necessity.

So my suggestion is to just keep going with what you got. As long as the cage isn’t slipping off, and not causing and pain or skin irritations, I’d say that you’re good to go!

I get asked this a lot: what does it feel like to wear a chastity device? Does it always feel weird? Does it ever get comfortable? How is it possible to live a normal life when your cock and balls are locked into a steel cage?

Well, it’s sort of like any other new thing: it takes some getting used to, but it becomes normal after a while. It’s almost like a piece of jewelry that you need to get used to wearing… except that it’s padlocked to your junk.

So I woke up today intending to write my “wearer’s review” of the new Jailbird device ML purchased for me, hoping that it would be a good reference for anyone interested in buying it from us, as well as a general review/information post. Lo and behold, today I found out that ML has already gotten offers on it without my post being written. I guess writing my review of the new JB will be for informational purposes only, then! 🙂

The Cage

As My Lady mentioned in her post, the dimensions of the new JB cage are smaller in both length and width. When I look at my penis when it is locked in the older cage, it looks as though there is room to tighten up just a little bit – there is often a little bit of space when I am flaccid. In practice, though, the new cage is just too tight; I would often find my penis crunched up against the side of the cage or twisted around inside., and I would often feel slight pinching when moving around at work. It wasn’t painful, but it did make wearing the cage uncomfortable. It was also difficult to adjust myself because of the extra crossbar because it was located right where I’m used to grabbing the bars to move the around when needed. I’m sure that the crossbar issue was something I could get used to, though.

The Base Ring

ML was hoping that the double ring would help keep the cage more stable against my body. I’m not sure if this was the case. The double ring did cause some discomfort issues in my sack area, however; I don’t know if the increased surface area compressed my skin more than I’m used to, if the gap was affected by the double ring, or if the added weight pulled down on my skin. All I know is that it didn’t feel right. I’ve gotten many questions lately on whether a single or double ring is better, or which shape ring is best (circle/oval/anatomical/etc.). I think that whatever fits your own body best ends up being what you get used to. I’ve worn devices with a single ring for so long, a double ring just isn’t right for me. The reverse could be true for someone else.

Overall

The new JB doesn’t have any major issues – it’s not cutting off circulation, and there are no rough spots or anything like that. There are just a bunch of small discomforts that all add up to the conclusion that it’s not the right fit for me. I do think that the extra crossbar is a nice look, which is why ML and I are going to try a cage with the new bar style and the old measurements.

I’ve been wearing the modified Revenge 24/7 for the past couple of days now. It’s much more comfortable than it was before we had it adjusted, most likely due to the rounding of the lip of the tube part of the cage. That, plus the fact that My Lady is really enjoying the integrated lock feature, and it seems that the adjustment is a big hit.

One thing that ML and I have been having trouble perfecting  – with all of our chastity cages, not just the Revenge – is the base ring. By “perfecting” I mean exactly that; the rings we have are very comfortable and useable for extended lockup periods, but they could be just a tad more comfortable. Then again, I have a steel ring locked around my junk, maybe it’s not supposed to be perfectly comfortable.

I began thinking about this because of a small switch ML made with the Revenge tonight – she switched the anatomical base ring with the regular straight one. I had been experiencing some discomfort which I attributed to slight shaving irritation, but ML wanted to see if the ring was the cause. Lo and behold, the cage is much more comfortable tonight than it has been with the curved ring! This could simply be my mind playing a placebo trick on me, but I’m not sure. Maybe the round ring is a better fit for me; it makes me wonder if we should try out a round ring with the Jailbird instead of the oval one we are currently using.

The other thing about getting my ring right, and this is something we’ve known about, is that I really could use a slightly smaller ring diameter. Both the J and Revenge have a tendency to “hang low” on my balls and look like it’s going to slide off the end of my cock (I wish). It’s not really all that bad, but it is noticable. You see, I have a stretchy sac and low hanging balls, which makes the diameter around them much smaller than you average guy. But the problem is that, while my balls are low hangers, they are also pretty damn big. So big, in fact, that if we were to get a smaller ring, I wouldn’t be able to squeeze them through the hole in the ring! Trust me, I’ve tried… with painful results. Q: Are there any medical concerns involved with being locked up so frequently?

Hmmmm….. good question. There are some medical issues that should be addressed when considering long term and/or frequent wearing of a chastity device. Most of these issues are not very severe if tended to.

The most common occurrence would be skin irritation where the cage sits, either around the scrotum or on the shaft of the penis. This can be avoided by using a properly fitting cage and proper lubrication to allow movement of the cage while walking. Skin irritation, if left unchecked, can lead to blisters and skin ulcers which risk being infected. You don’t want that.

Another common condition that is often seen with open-style devices (Birdcage/Jailbird/etc.) is edema, or localized swelling due to fluid buildup. This happens when the penile tissue expands into the open spaces of the cage. This isn’t the “hardon bulge” I’m talking about… that is completely normal, especially when your keyholder is deliberately turning you into a sex-crazed lunatic. Edema occurs when your erection goes away, but the swelling and fluid remain. This can be fixed by rubbing and massaging the area to promote circulation… just be careful not to enjoy it TOO much and piss off your keyholder! Edema, when not dealt with in time, can cause tissue damage and possible erectile dysfunction if it becomes serious enough.

The issues I have described in the linked posts were not related directly to wearing the chastity device. There were… ahem… other factors involved.

Q: How does chastity effect the day-to-day basis of your life?

To be honest, not all that much. The main difference is that I get crazy horny as time goes on. Duh. Other than that, the cage doesn’t get in the way much. Work is not a problem, even though my job requires frequent walks around the room, as well as sitting and standing. I’ve Got Big Balls!

How Time Flies

I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing, but I’m starting to get used to wearing the cage for extended periods of time.

This week in particular has flown by pretty quickly. Both My Lady and I have been slightly preoccupied with RL things, but I still can’t deny that wearing the cage is starting to feel normal.
